Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly on the verge of finalized terms to recruit a new young goalkeeper for the upcoming season. This surprise signing is expected to shake up the hierarchy at a position that has seen significant instability over recent months. According to reports from L'Equipe, the French champions are currently finalizing a deal for an unnamed 18-year-old Spanish goalkeeper.

The transfer activity coincides with active preparations for the UEFA Champions League final, where Paris Saint-Germain will face Premier League side Arsenal in Budapest. The decision to reinforce the position follows tactical adjustments initiated last summer by manager Luis Enrique, who sanctioned the departure of Gianluigi Donnarumma to bring in former LOSC Lille shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier, primarily for his superior distribution skills.

Despite arriving with high expectations, Lucas Chevalier has recently found himself sidelined as the secondary choice or even dropped to third in the pecking order behind teammate Renato Marin. Editorial monitoring indicates that the club management, led by Luis Campos, Luis Enrique, and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, views the incoming Spanish teenager as a major prospect, which will inevitably yield major consequences for the current squad structure.

Field observations show that the Parisian management retains high confidence in the development of Renato Marin, projecting him as a strong backup option behind Matvey Safonov. This leaves the future of Lucas Chevalier increasingly uncertain, with indications pointing toward a summer exit from the capital club if a suitable destination can be secured.

The potential transfer creates a selection dilemma for the technical staff regarding player satisfaction and squad depth. Paris Saint-Germain currently have three senior goalkeepers on the books alongside two 18-year-old prospects undergoing negotiations for their first professional contracts, establishing a complex management scenario ahead of the summer transfer market.
